Playing and enjoying your bodhran is often the best care that you can give it. You can condition the skin from time to time if it is drying out or becoming 'tinny' by rubbing a palm-ful beeswax into the skin. Do not let your skin become too tight and dry. Loosen the tuning ring if this happens.
